A dessert that doubles as breakfast! Make the night before and enjoy leftovers in the morning.
Ingredients
For Filling:
2 apples, peeled and chopped
Handful of sultanas (golden raisins)
Cinnamon to taste
For Topping:
1/2 cup rolled oats
Handful of oat bran or bran flakes
Cinnamon
Brown sugar, honey, or sugar substitute
Enough plain unsweetened yogurt to make crumbly texture
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350-400°F (180-200°C).
2. Mix apples, sultanas, and cinnamon in oven-proof dish.
3. In another bowl, combine oats, bran, cinnamon, and sweetener.
4. Add yogurt and mix with fingers until crumbly but not sticking together.
5. Spread over apple mixture.
6. Bake 15+ minutes (longer if you like soft apples).
7. For dessert, serve with custard or fat-free ice cream.
8. Leftovers moisten overnight - perfect for breakfast!
