A fruity crisp with tart dried cherries and sweet apples under an oat topping.
Ingredients
6-8 apples, peeled, cored and cut into chunks
1 cup dried sour cherries
1 cup sugar
3/4 cup quick-cooking oatmeal
1/2 cup whole wheat flour
1/3 cup apple butter
Instructions
1. Soak cherries in hot water for 20 minutes until plumped. Drain.
2. Preheat oven to 350°F.
3. Mix apples, cherries, and 1/2 cup sugar in casserole dish.
4. Mix remaining sugar, oatmeal, flour, and apple butter until crumbly.
5. Sprinkle topping over fruit.
6. Bake 50 minutes until golden and bubbly.
