Apple Pie with Grape-Nuts Crust

A classic apple pie with a crunchy oat topping and fat-free Grape-Nuts crust.

Ingredients

For Crust: 1 1/4 cups Grape-Nuts 1/8 to 1/4 cup maple syrup For Filling: 5 apples, sliced 1 tablespoon lemon juice 3/4 cup sugar 1 tablespoon flour 2 teaspoons cinnamon For Topping: 1/2 cup rolled oats 1/4 cup flour 1/4 cup sugar 1 teaspoon cinnamon 3 tablespoons applesauce or plain yogurt

Instructions

1. Mix Grape-Nuts with maple syrup and press into 9-inch pie pan. 2. Toss filling ingredients together and layer in crust. 3. Combine dry topping ingredients. 4. Blend in applesauce with fingers until crumbly. 5. Drop evenly over pie. 6. Bake at 425°F for 10 minutes. 7. Reduce heat to 350°F and continue baking 35-40 minutes. 8. Serves 6-8.
