Simple and delicious bulgur pilaf with celery and onion. Even tabouli-haters love it!
Ingredients
3 cups water or vegetable broth
1 head celery, chopped
1 large onion, sliced thin
2 cups bulgur wheat
Herbs of choice (optional)
Instructions
1. Bring water or broth to a boil.
2. Add chopped celery and sliced onion.
3. Simmer 5 minutes.
4. Add bulgur wheat.
5. Simmer on low about 25 minutes.
6. Turn off heat and let stand 5 or more minutes.
Variation: Add sliced mushrooms, green beans, or peas for a one-pot meal. Toss in herbs too!
