A beautiful red and white pie perfect for patriotic holidays or any celebration.
Ingredients
1 can sugar-free sliced apples
1 can sugar-free cherry pie filling
1/2 cup sugar
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1 1/2 teaspoons lemon juice
Red food coloring
1 (9-inch) fat-free pie shell
Instructions
1. Drain apples and cherries, reserving 1/2 cup cherry juice.
2. Combine sugar, cornstarch, and cinnamon in small pan.
3. Blend in reserved juice, lemon juice, and a few drops food coloring.
4. Cook, stirring constantly, until boiling. Boil 1 minute.
5. Arrange apples and cherries in pie shell.
6. Pour hot mixture over fruit.
7. Bake at 425°F for 30 minutes.
