Rich, chocolatey brownies with a hint of coffee liqueur. Incredibly fudgy without the fat.
Ingredients
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
3/4 cup unbleached flour
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 egg whites (or egg replacer for 2 eggs)
1/2 cup applesauce
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 tablespoon Kahlua
1 tablespoon peanut butter
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray 8x8 pan with cooking spray.
2. Sift together cocoa, flour, baking powder, and salt.
3. Combine peanut butter with Kahlua warmed in the microwave (it will be gluey).
4. Mix kahlua/peanut butter mixture with sugar (will be crumbly).
5. Whisk in egg whites, applesauce, and vanilla.
6. Combine flour mixture with wet mixture.
7. Pour into prepared pan.
8. Bake 35-40 minutes.
9. Cool before cutting.
