A Quebec-style apple crisp with pure maple syrup and a oat-applesauce topping.
Ingredients
5-6 apples, chopped
Cinnamon to taste
3/4 cup pure maple syrup
1/2 cup whole wheat flour
1/2 cup oatmeal
1/2 cup applesauce
1/2 cup brown sugar
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
2. Lightly spray 8x8 inch baking pan.
3. Place chopped apples in pan.
4. Pour maple syrup over apples.
5. Sprinkle generously with cinnamon.
6. Mix flour and oatmeal in bowl.
7. Add applesauce and brown sugar, mix until just moistened.
8. Spoon and pat mixture over apples (empty spots are fine).
9. Bake 35 minutes until golden.
10. Scoop out to serve - this dessert doesn't cut neatly!
