Moist, cake-like brownies using prune puree instead of butter. The secret ingredient no one will guess!
Ingredients
1/2 cup flour
1/3 cup cocoa
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup pureed prunes (a 4 oz jar of baby food prunes works perfectly)
2/3 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 egg equivalents
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
2. Mix flour, cocoa, baking powder, and salt in one bowl.
3. In separate bowl, mix prune puree, sugar, vanilla, and egg equivalents.
4. Add dry ingredients to wet and stir until combined.
5. Pour into 8-inch square pan.
6. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until edges look dry and start to pull away from pan.
7. Cool before cutting.
