Apple Bread

Spiced apple bread with ginger and cloves. Perfect tea-time treat!

Ingredients

2 cups flour 1/4 teaspoon salt 1/4 teaspoon baking soda 2 teaspoons baking powder 1 teaspoon cinnamon 1/2 teaspoon ginger 1/4 teaspoon cloves 2 egg whites, whipped 1 cup brown sugar or honey, packed 1/2 cup applesauce 1/3 cup skim milk at room temperature 1 1/2 cups peeled, chopped apples

Instructions

1. Preheat oven at 350°F. 2. Prepare pan with cooking spray and flour. 3. Combine flour, salt, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, ginger, and cloves. 4. In another bowl, combine egg whites, brown sugar, applesauce, milk, and apples. 5. Mix wet and dry ingredients together. 6. Pour into prepared pan. 7. Bake for 1 hour depending on pan size. Note: Lower temp = thicker, chewier crust. Higher temp = thinner, crisper crust.
