Baked Italian-Style Tofu

Tofu marinated in Italian seasonings and baked until crispy. Perfect for salads, pasta, or eating on its own.

Ingredients

2 blocks (14 oz each) extra-firm tofu, pressed 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar 2 tablespoons nutritional yeast 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning 1 teaspoon garlic powder 1/2 teaspoon onion powder 1/4 teaspoon black pepper 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

1. Press tofu for at least 1 hour or overnight. 2. Preheat oven to 400°F. Line baking sheet with parchment. 3. Cut tofu into 1-inch cubes or slices. 4. Whisk together soy sauce, vinegar, nutritional yeast, and all seasonings. 5. Toss tofu in marinade and let sit 15-30 minutes. 6. Arrange tofu in single layer on baking sheet. 7. Bake 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway, until crispy and golden. 8. Serve warm or store refrigerated up to 5 days.
