Savory whole oats with sea vegetables and pumpkin seeds. A unique and satisfying dish!
Ingredients
1/2 cup whole oats (groats)
1-2 tablespoons dried basil
2 whole cloves
1 tablespoon pumpkin seeds (optional but worth it)
1 handful dulse (red sea vegetable)
1 7/8 cups water
Instructions
1. Wash oats and dry roast until golden brown with fruity smell (prevents slimy texture).
2. Carefully wash barnacles and foreign material from dulse.
3. Pressure cook roasted oats with dulse, water, and cloves for 45 minutes.
4. While cooking, dry roast pumpkin seeds until lightly browned (less than 5 minutes).
5. Combine cooked oats with pumpkin seeds and basil.
Note: If pressure cooker valve clogs, try adding a small amount of brown rice next time.
