Sweet bagels with cinnamon and raisins. The oat bran adds extra nutrition!
Ingredients
1 1/4 cups (3 dl) water
2 teaspoons dry yeast
2 tablespoons sugar
3/4 cup (2 dl) oat bran
2 cups (5 dl) wheat flour
1 tablespoon cinnamon
1/2 cup (1 dl) raisins
Egg white mixed with 2 tablespoons water (for brushing)
Instructions
1. Heat water, add sugar and yeast. Let bubbles form.
2. Add flour, oat bran, cinnamon, and raisins. Knead until dough doesn't stick to fingers.
3. Cover with towel and let rise 45 minutes in warm place.
4. Knead 1 minute, divide into 6 balls.
5. Flatten each ball and make a hole in the middle with fingers.
6. Let rise 30 minutes covered.
7. Boil water with 2 tablespoons sugar, reduce to simmer.
8. Lower bagels into water, 2-3 at a time. Simmer 3 minutes, turning.
9. Brush with egg white wash. Top with seeds if desired.
10. Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 25 minutes. Cool on wire rack.
