Homemade vegetable dumplings with a tangy dipping sauce. Perfect dim sum at home!
Ingredients
Filling:
2 cups shredded cabbage or bok choy
Carrots, mushrooms, onion to taste
Soy sauce
1 tablespoon chili paste (optional)
Dipping Sauce:
1/8 cup soy sauce per person
1/8 cup vinegar per person
Fresh garlic, minced
Fresh ginger, minced
24 wonton/dumpling skins
Instructions
1. Make dipping sauce: Mix equal parts soy sauce and vinegar. Add equal parts minced garlic and ginger.
2. Stir-fry vegetable mix in a bit of water and soy sauce until translucent. Add chili paste if using.
3. Scoop about 1.5 teaspoons filling onto each dumpling skin.
4. Fold dumpling into shape, dip edges in water to seal.
5. Boil dumplings for 3-5 minutes OR steam for 5-10 minutes.
6. They're done when crinkled and translucent.
7. Serve with dipping sauce.
