Fragrant vanilla syrup for fruit butters, pancakes, and desserts. Keeps a month refrigerated!
Ingredients
1 vanilla bean
1 cup water
1 cup granulated sugar
Instructions
1. Split vanilla bean in half lengthwise.
2. Combine water and sugar in 1-quart saucepan over medium heat. Stir to dissolve sugar.
3. When sugar dissolves, scrape seeds from vanilla pod into pan, then add the pod.
4. Increase heat to high, bring to boil. Boil 1 minute.
5. Remove from heat and cool completely.
6. Refrigerate in tightly covered container. Keeps about 1 month.
